Secretary James Aloisi, Executive Office of Transportation
Welcome to the Transportation blog! I am really excited about launching the youMove Massachusetts website and blog - an important way for the Patrick Administration to lay out the facts, and to interact with the public about the Transportation and Economic Security Plan.
We believe that the best solutions for our current transportation funding crisis will come from listening to the people who use our transportation services and facilities.
As I have said on more than one occasion, the time is now to enact real reform and real change in how we finance our transportation system and services. The time is now to tell people the truth - and the truth is that our transportation needs are seriously underfunded. We have not kept pace with inflation, let alone the basic maintenance needs of our system, and the result is that we are now having to pay for the sins of the past.
This is not an easy path we have taken, but I firmly believe it is the right path - a path that is generationally responsible and that will bring significant positive returns to the citizens and the economy of Massachusetts.
Stay tuned to this blog for updates and news about our reform and renew efforts as we build a long-term sustainable transportation system to support job growth and economic development. I look forward to hearing your voice on this blog and on www.mass.gov/youmovemassachusetts.

Is the Chelsea Street Bridge open as of today or not? This will effect my parking decisions when going to the airport.

If anyone is listening at Mass Highway, the new 511 trafic is no longer very useful. Just thought you guys should know that it was a good service now it is not. I know you are trying to improve the service, but I don't think it worked. I used to dial in every day on my way to the parking garage. I have stopped as the information I now get does not help me decide which route to take home. Telling me the average speed at some exit number is not very helpful or meaningful. Knowing where the backup are is useful.

No new gas tax. Fix the government first.
