Shovels will be in the ground in the next two weeks as work begins rebuilding more than five miles of Route 6 in Swansea between Seekonk and Somerset as part of Governor Patrick's Massachusetts Recovery Plan.
The $3.4 million project is one of the first five shovel-ready projects with bids awarded under an aggressive timeline using federal stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
