Less than one year after Governor Deval Patrick visited Beverly with a pledge to build an MBTA commuter parking garage at Beverly Depot, the project will become a reality. The state is moving forward with plans for a development that includes a 500-space parking garage plus housing and retail, all one block from the Beverly Depot.
Funding for the $20 million project will come from the state and MBTA, along with funds from the City of Beverly. The garage should be completed by the end of 2011.
The Beverly Depot is one of MBTA's busiest commuter rail stops.
