Witness the spirit of collaboration in the transportation family and a nod to history, all in one stop at the Charlton Pike Service Plaza.
RMV Registrar Rachel Kaprielian and current Turnpike Authority Executive Director Jeff Mullan stand with a plaque honoring the Turnpike's very first leader, William F. Callahan. Callahan served as Pike Chairman from the day construction on the roadway began in 1955 until his death in 1964.
Brian Murphy and David Mohler from the Executive Office of Transportation joined the Registrar and Executive Director in the photo taken on June 26, the day Governor Patrick signed the bill that moves the RMV, Turnpike, and EOT along with MassHighway and the Aeronautics Commission into the new, streamlined Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

If all these agencies are now be merged into one, why have I only heard about the Turnpike Authority being eliminated?
Unless you read the bill you wouldn't know the other agencies have also been eliminated, that doesn't sound like being totally truthful, how much money is this New agency going to save us?
Will the people in charge of the these departments be political hires and if they are, will they be qualified for their jobs? You need to run this new agency as a business if you want it to succeed. Start looking at resumes guys.
Why am I only reading about the Turnpike unions being singled out for union busting. What are the Mass Highway and MBTA unions giving up? Shame on the Democrats for not working will all the unions on this issue.
Where is the news media in getting out all the facts?
