Turnpike motorists by the tens of thousands are skipping the cash lane for the FAST LANE by picking up a free transponder. Electronic transactions rose dramatically and cash transactions dropped on the Turnpike during the four-day 2009 Memorial Day weekend compared to last year. The facts:
During the 2009 Memorial Day weekend, electronic transactions jumped 11.37 to 1,102,030 compared to last year. Cash transactions dropped by 10.72% to 728,329. Total transactions rose 1.01%.
Since the free transponder program began in mid-February, more than 105,000 FAST LANE transponders have been distributed.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3, motorists can sign up for FAST LANE at Access Seaport, a showcase of transportation alternatives organized by the Seaport Transportation Management Association, at the Seaport World Trade Center East, Eastport and Wintergarden. The hours are 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Motorists can pick up free transponders that will be ready to use the next day.
Free transponders are always available instantly at FAST LANE Service Centers in Auburn, Natick, and East Boston. All 3 Fast lane Service centers offer convenient Saturday hours and the Auburn location offers Sunday hours.
FAST LANE transponder applications are also available online or by calling 1-877-MASSPIKE (1-877-627-7745). FAST LANE is also available for non-commercial accounts at many Registry of Motor Vehicle offices.

All I want to do is to update my credit card for FastLane account. No easy way to do it??? Certainly not a user friendly web site.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may do this on the web, yes. Or you may talk live to Customer Service at 1 877 627 7745
Or you can call 1 877 627 7745, choose option 5, and update credit card information over the phone, with no assistance.
Customers will need to know the Fast Lane acct number and their 4 digit personnel pin number.

I have spent the last 15 minutes trying to navigat to Fast Pass locations and Times. All I keep seeing is how wonderful the transportation system is and what else is going to be done spending our money.

MassDOT Responds: Yes, you can access your toll transactions online. Go to www.mass.gov/fastlane and select your account in the Fast Lane Program box. You would be required to log into your account (account and PIN # required) and select check your account transactions. Once on that page you would then enter the dates you’re interested in viewing.
