Fall River Brightman Street Bascule Bridge- First Leaf

The first of four "leafs" for the new Brightman Street bridge arrived in Fall River by barge on Monday as schedule.  Watch the video from the Fall River Herald News.

The double bascule, or movable, bridge design will lift and provide clearance for vessels taller than 60-feet.  The other three leafs will arrive during the next nine months.  The MassHighway Brightman Street bridge project is scheduled for completion in 2012.
