MassHighway contractors are on schedule and moving forward with the $4.3 million construction of the Route 1- Newbury Street bridges over Route 62- Maple Street, in Danvers.
To recapture time lost to utility delays, MassHighway worked with the contractor SPS New England to change traffic management plans and complete the project in two phases rather than three.
Demolition work in September seen at left has been completed. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction on Route 1.
The bridges are scheduled to open to two lanes in each direction before the end of the year, with completion early next year. Visit MassHighway's website for more on road and bridge projects.
