MassHighway Commissioner Luisa Paiewonsky continues her visits to the
five MassHighway District offices in October for "Celebrate MassHighway"
events to mark the 116-year history of building, rehabilitating and
maintaining the
Massachusetts State Highway System. Commissioner Paiewonsky met Friday, October 9 with employees at the District 1 offices in Lenox.
As the new MassDOT begins service on November 1, MassHighway officially closes operations
as an agency and its employees join the Massachusetts
Turnpike Authority, portions of DCR and, as of January 1, 2010 the Tobin Bridge, to form the
new MassDOT Highway Division.
