Susan

why not set up a program for "general labor" work. There are many of us that need a job that does not require a degree or special licenses. Where are the jobs?

I hope that Federal stimulas money will be used in consideration of older female/male workers. It is pretty much sure that the Federal stimulas money will be utilised for the people who have lost their jobs because of recession.

Thanks,

Will there be any jobs that will be created that are just as available and beneficial for the female population. Because of the amount of women tax payers we are curious to know what jobs will be created that help as high a percentage of women as have been noted to help men.

MassDOT Responds: MassDOT is taking proactive steps in this area, yes. Secretary Mullan recently told a gathering of women in transportation that MassDOT is actively seeking the broadest spectrum of qualified candidates for Engineering and Technology and other available positions. MassDOT's Office of Civil Rights is aggressively implementing a program to provide support services to qualified disadvantaged business enterprises, firms owned by women, non-minorities and minorities who seek to enter into the highway construction industry. Suggestions and ideas on how we can more effectively create these opportunities are appreciated. Thank you.

Wonderful Construction! Are you also planning to create jobs for the OLDER female/male workers in the Commonwealth that have been out of work? I haven't seen many jobs advertized for the average worker using the Federal stimulas money.
