MBTA: Dramatic Drop in Subway Speed Restrictions

I am pleased to report that MBTA track maintenance forces have reduced speed restrictions on the MBTA’s Subway Lines to record low levels as of last month.  

The MBTA measures the track condition impacts on the customer in minutes added to the scheduled trip time because of speed restrictions.  

The T’s speed restriction impacts on the entire Subway system for November were eight minutes and 42 seconds , down from a high of 135 minutes in the Summer of 2003.

With a customer-driven focus on reducing subway travel times, MBTA Maintenance of Way crews have been working around the clock to make the track repairs necessary to lift the restrictions that force train operator to lower their speeds.

I was told that the T actually has individuals who work for the T and clean the buses and trains daily. Surley you jest. There is no such animal. I continue to see the same filth on the bus that was on the bus the previous day. The seats are packed with dust. Is there any accountability within the system or do they, too just collect a check.
Come on u must know that the buses aren't cleaned at least the buses that I ride on, in and out of ruggles, backbay, mattapan, fields corner,
