The MBTA Transit Police Department and the Cambridge Police Department would like to sincerely thank the public for their assistance in helping to identify an individual who was wanted by both agencies. It is alleged that this individual indecently assaulted females and committed acts of Open and Gross Lewdness on the MBTA and in the City of Cambridge. After requesting the assistance of the public, the Transit Police and Cambridge Police received a number of tips. These tips led to a positive identification of the individual who was subsequently arrested at his residence in Dorchester Tuesday. The 27-year-old suspect was booked at Transit Police Headquarters for three counts of Open and Gross Lewdness and will also be booked at the Cambridge Police Department for two counts of Indecent Assault & Battery and one count of Open & Gross Lewdness. He will be arraigned in Cambridge District Court.
Both agencies took immediate action to apprehend the individual, but it was the swift and active cooperation of the public that led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator.
