It is May 27 and work is still being performed on the bridge tieing up traffic. Any official updates on the time frame for this work ?
============================================
We anticipate extending the night closure for next week. The BU Rehabilitation Project is scheduled to be complete in Dec 2011. The work zone for the deck work requires the main span of the bridge to be reduced to one lane in each direction from Boston to Cambridge at all times-which causes the traffic.

Last Thursday, April 1st the bridge was still closing (April Fools?) at 9pm. Is there an update on the progress of the project.
Also, has the Mass DOT considered that BU releases all night classes at 9pm and the closing of the bridge adds significant time to night student commutes. Could the bridge closing be pushed back to 9:30pm (or at least close at 9 on the dot, I have arrived several times at 8:50 and the crew has already closed the Boston to Cambridge side of the bridge)?

Thanks, don't know if a time change is possible given work schedules but have passed this along to the project representatives. In addition, night closures are generally scheduled to begin after 11pm through 5am

Thank you.

It's March 11th and the bridge was still closed this evening.
============================================Thanks. Since this post of several weeks ago, we posted on our website, communicated to the media, and posted on Twitter this follow up information:

On Sunday, March 7, 2010 through Thursday, March 18, 2010 the Boston University Bridge, which carries traffic over the Charles River between Cambridge and Boston, will be closed to traffic from 9 PM to 5 AM each week (Sunday to Thursday.) The upstream sidewalk will remain open during the bridge closure for bicycle and pedestrian access. Charles River passage will also be maintained. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternative routes during the closures.
