Freetown Route 24 Exit 8B Public Hearing Set

A design public hearing for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project, the Route 24 Interchange 8B Design Build Project in Fall River/Freetown, will be held at the following date, time, and location:

Thursday, February 11, 7:00pm

Freetown Elementary School, 43 Bullock Road, Freetown

The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity learn and ask questions about the proposed Exit 8B project.  All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered.

The project involves construction of a full access interchange between Exits 8 and 9 on Route 24 in Fall River/Freetown. The project includes the creation of the new entrance and exit ramps, relocation of a segment of South Main Street and the creation of a new street - Executive Parking Drive, which will connect South Main Street and Riggenbach Road while connecting the new exit with the local road network and providing access to the new Fall River Executive Park. The new connection will help alleviate existing congestion on South Main Street and at Exits 8 and 9.
