MassDOT contractors have completed repairs to the Bridge that carries the ramp from I-495 northbound to the Lowell Connector inbound at the Chelmsford/Lowell line.
The bridge is seen at left in 2009 before the repairs. There was significant deterioration to the pier top and columns.
Work to repair the bridge was completed by contractor SPS New England following coordination of traffic management with the I-495 Bridge Bundle Design/Build project ongoing in the adjacent area of I-495.
The repairs, left below, were completed as part of MassDOT's statewide structural repairs contract maintaining bridges across the Commonwealth, in addition to the larger projects to replace and rehabilitate bridges. Learn more about MassDOT road and bridge projects.

This is a Great Example of the Bridge Repair work that is Currently ongoing across the State. Great Job MassDOT.

I normally don't commend government, but this is money well spent. Keep up the good work.
