"Pedal & Park" is the name of MBTA secured bike cages to offer a healthy option for commuters using public transportation. MBTA GM Rich Davey announced the "Pedal & Park" name as the winner in a contest to name the cages during ceremonies at South Station, where a secure bike facility is under construction with completion later this summer. Increasingly popular Pedal & Park cages are now open at Alewife and Forest Hills, accessible only with special Bike Charlie Cards. More bike facilities will open during the next year.

It is unfortunate that @mbtaGM comments were drowned out by station announcements. Ecstatic that the T is providing these great facilities!

Since one cannot bring bikes on the Green Line, I'd like to see Pedal & Park facilities along this line. Riverside would be a great location for the next facility.

Good to hear that there is more being done to promote bicycling! I recently read about a 15-year study showing that the amount of people walking and bicycling as their mode of transportation has increased by 25%. And I'm sure this is one reason why! Not only is bicycling good for the body and environment, but it also saves quite a bit of money as well. I also just learned about how commuters can save up to 40% on their commuter on www.commuternation.com.
