The Patrick-Murray Administration has introduced another online convenience that will make it easier for Massachusetts drivers to go online for MassDOT RMV services and avoid waiting in line at branches. Customers of www.mass.gov/rmv can now order a duplicate certificate of title as long as it does not list a lien holder.
“Every year, approximately 70,000 customers request a duplicate title,” said MassDOT Registrar Rachel Kaprielian. “This newest online feature means half of those requests can be processed online instead of coming into a branch or through the mail. That’s thousands of fewer customers a year in our 30 branches.”
Customers will find the service easy to use and a secure transaction, which can be paid for by credit card or electronic check. The title will be mailed to the vehicle owner’s address within two business days of being processed online. The transaction cannot be processed online if the certificate of title has not been issued, is revoked or suspended, has been junked, returned, a Memorandum Title has been issued, or a lienholder is listed on the RMV’s database.
Duplicate titles is just one of more than 18 new services added to the MassDOT RMV website in the last two years increasing customer transaction traffic by 40%. In addition to renewing a license or registration, customers can also complete all license paperwork online and make an appointment to complete the application in a branch as well as register to be an organ tissue donor, book a road test and sign up for a free reminder service.

where do i go to pay outstanding existing tickets online
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can pay citations online at the RMV website. http://www.mass.gov/rmv/express/instr_cit.htm
If you do not pay the citation in the time allotted by statute, then you can still pay the ticket, but you also have to pay any late and release fees indicated (an additional $55 for both). If you go into suspension for not paying the ticket within the allotted time, you can still pay the ticket and the late and release fees online, but you would need to go to a branch to see a hearing officer to get the right to operate reinstated and pay an additional reinstatement fee.
