MassDOT has scheduled a Design Public Hearing for the proposed Kenneth F. Burns Memorial Bridge Replacement Project in Worcester and Shrewsbury for the following:
Worcester Technical High School– Conference Center, One Skyline Drive, Worcester
Wednesday, September 21, 7pm
The hearing will provide the public an opportunity to learn details about the proposed bridge replacement alternative for the Burns Bridge carrying Route 9 over Lake Quinsigamond. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
The proposed project will replace the Kenneth F. Burns Memorial Bridge with a new bridge structure with three travel lanes in each direction, left and right turning lanes at each approach, bicycle-accommodating shoulders and sidewalks in each direction.
Written views received by MassDOT up to five days prior to the date of the hearing shall be displayed for public inspection and copying at the public hearing. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project.
Written statements and other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the Public Hearing regarding the proposed undertaking are to be submitted to Thomas F. Broderick, P.E., Acting Chief Engineer, MassDOT, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, ATTN: Michael O’Dowd, Project File No. 604729. Such submissions will also be accepted at the hearing. Mailed statements and exhibits intended for inclusion in the public hearing transcript must be postmarked within ten (10) business days of this Public Hearing.
