MassDOT is offering innovative Complete Streets programming that is being deployed statewide at over 80 Complete Street Workshops scheduled through April 2012.
Complete Streets represent the comprehensive multi-modal philosophy in MassDOT’s Project Development and Design Guide that require safe and appropriate accommodation for all roadway users.
The MassDOT GreenDOT policy and Healthy Transportation Compact reinforce the promotion of healthy transportation choices of walking, bicycling and transit.
To support and raise awareness for MassDOT’s requirement for Complete Streets we are holding workshops for municipal officials, local leaders, decision makers and consultants to value and understand the framework to deliver Complete Streets locally.
The 3-hour Primer focuses on the transportation, public health and environmental benefits and discusses implementation strategies for Complete Streets and is offered at no cost. The 6-hour Complete Street Workshop provides a more technical approach designed for the Commonwealth’s roadway planners and engineers.
Both workshops have received approval for AICP and Road Scholar continuing education credits. For more information and to register please check out MassDOT Complete Street Workshops or email info@baystateroads.org
