Several Regional Transit Authorities are partnering with MassDOT's MassRIDES to promote green transportation options through NuRide, the nation's largest travel rewards and rideshare matching program.
The Greater Attleboro-Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA), the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) and the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) have each taken a unique approach in promoting NuRide to their customers.
NuRide, sponsored by MassDOT, is FREE for anyone living or working in Massachusetts and encourages greener trips by walking, bicycling, carpooling, vanpooling or by public transit.
“Promoting NuRide benefits the PVTA because it demonstrates our collaboration with organizations, including MassRIDES and MassDOT, who value promoting healthier and greener transportation options,” said Brandy Lamica, of the PVTA.
GATRA, WRTA, CCRTA and PVTA have each incorporated direct links from their individual RTA web pages to www.NuRide.com for those interested in learning more about the travel reward and rideshare matching program. Individuals who enroll in NuRide are provided a unique RTA promotion code available on each of the RTA web pages which provides an instant 1,000 point credit to new accounts. Points accrued with each green trip taken can then be redeemed for retail discounts, restaurant coupons and tickets to area shows and attractions.

I don't want points, rideshare matching, or coupons for attractions.
I want transit systems that are easy to ride. And the best way to do this is to provide route and schedule data to Google Maps and the general public, on an open source basis.
Most of the RTAs are on Google Maps, including GATRA, CCRTA, and PVTA. But WRTA, CATA, BRTA, and SRTA aren't.
