The new Fore River Bridge connecting Weymouth and Quincy is the inspiration for an award-winning replica created by a local team from STV, an engineering, architectural, planning and construction firm.
LEGO® building bricks were the construction materials for the STV Building Contest, celebrating the company's anniversary and to benefit Habitat for Humanity. A total of 130 employees on 15 teams from 11 company offices participated in the contest.
The Fore River Bridge replica is one of two that tied for first place. STV presented a $30,000 check to Habitat for Humanity International today in Boston, with MassDOT Highway Administrator Frank DePaola present. In addition, the Boston Habitat affiliate received a $4,000 donation.
