MassDOT
encourages weekend travelers to plan ahead as a winter storm is expected to affect most regions of the state Saturday and Sunday.
As always, crews will be pre-treating and clearing
state roads. MassDOT has access to more than 4,000 crews statewide called upon as needed depending on the severity of the storm.
For those who must travel, MassDOT urges everyone to check before leaving, drive cautiously, and use public transportation where possible.
Our live online traffic cameras show current conditions on major state roadways.
We encourage you to review MassDOT’s winter driving tips. Among the important reminders: for your safety, please stay a safe distance behind maintenance vehicles and snow plows. Stay back at least 200 feet and never pass on the right. The road in front of the plow is usually in much worse condition than the roadway behind the plow. Plows will typically travel under 35 miles per hour and drivers should avoid passing them if possible.
