MassDOT advises motorists to exercise caution, avoid all distractions and to allow extra time during the Monday morning commute.
-Before leaving home be sure to remove all snow and ice from your vehicles, falling snow and ice poses a hazard to all motorists.
-Visibility is reduced due to the height of snow banks in many locations, exercise extreme caution merging and yielding onto highways, especially on routes that allow for breakdown lane travel.
-Reduce speeds on on-ramps and off-ramps. Maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
-Crews are working continuously to remove snow from shoulders and breakdown lanes. Drivers should be aware that in some areas the shoulder may still be snow covered and the width of right travel lanes may be reduced due to snow.
-Limit mobile phone use and other distractions.
-Allow extra time for your commute.

I am surprised that it was not a priority for EOT to clear all snow from the lanes of the Tobin Bridge approaches and ramps by today. Please make it a priority to clear those so the backup for commuters from Route 1 is not a nightmare like it was today.

Thanks for the comments. MassDOT crews have been out since state roads were opened Saturday with follow-up clearing of ramps, breakdown lanes, roadsides, and are continuing until all travel lanes are open in all locations.
